We begin with a skin analysis.

By starting first with a comprehensive evaluation of your skin, we can recommend the best treatment option(s) for you.

Chemical peels are composed of a single or combination of chemicals that cause exfoliation and peeling of the superficial to deep layers of the skin depending on peel type to reveal new, fresh, and typically less damaged skin. Conditions that may be treated with chemical peels:

    • Fine to medium depth wrinkles
    • Hyperpigmentation
    • Rosacea
    • Acne
    • Enlarged pores
    • Mild forms of loose skin

What to Expect?

A chemical peel starts with cleansing the face. After the skin is prepped for treatment, the peel is evenly applied to the treatment area. Skin specific serums are applied to target specific skin conditions. This is followed by application of a soothing and protective skin barrier. An aftercare kit is recommended to optimize results.

The entire process takes about 30 minutes. It may take 2-3 treatment sessions to achieve ideal results, which may be repeated every 4 – 6 weeks to maintain that healthy glow.

What are the side effects and downtime for chemical peels?

Redness after the procedure is common and oftentimes mild. Skin flaking and peeling may occur for several days and lasting up to a week. Due to peeling, the skin will be more sensitive four about 7-10 days after treatment. A post-treatment regimen will be recommended to optimize healing and new skin formation which always includes the use of SPF 50+ sunscreen.

Exercise should be refrained from for 24 hours as this can cause increased heat, inflammation and redness. Regular makeup can typically be used again once healing is complete which may be 7-10 days.

Please discuss any medical history of severe acne, use of Accutane, radiation, oral herpes or skin infection with your provider. Active acne, infection, open wounds are contraindications for chemical peels. If you have a history of cold sores, oral antivirals may be recommended pre and post-treatment. A history of hyperpigmentation or melasma may also benefit from pretreatment with a specific skin cream.
