Soft Tissue Loss

As we age, there is a natural loss of fat, muscle and thinning of skin. Bone resorption occurs around the eyes, the cheek and jaw bone. These changes contribute to the hollow look that occurs with aging around the eyes, temples, mouth, and jawline. Many people look in the mirror and see a face aging quicker than their soul. It is natural to want our faces to represent how we feel. Fillers are used to treat the volume loss in skin, fat, muscle and bone in the face.  Firmer forms of injectables such as Restylane Lyft and Voluma, can be used to support sagging tissues of the face.

Fillers can be placed to treat fine lines, wrinkles, folds, depressions and sagging tissues of the face and even neck. Traditional uses of fillers include treatment of nasolabial folds (creases from the nose to the mouth), marionette lines (crease from the corner of the mouth to the chin), tear troughs (hollowed areas around the eyes), and to fill the lips.

What to Expect?

    • After a full facial analysis, the areas of concern are marked out with a pencil. Based on the treatment area, filler options will be presented.
    • There are two main families of fillers – Restylane and Juvederm. Within each family, there are fillers of varying density and support.
    • The appropriate filler will then be selected in order to obtain optimal results.
    • Topical numbing cream is typically used to increase comfort. The filler is strategically placed to counter signs of volume loss.
    • Fillers typically last 9 to 12 months. Some forms may last much longer, up to 2 years.

What are the side effects and downtime for dermal fillers?

    • There may be some swelling and potentially mild soreness in the region where fillers are placed for the first 2-3 days.
    • Bruising may occur with any needle insertion. Ways to avoid more bruising than typical would be to avoid aspirin 10 days prior to the procedure, icing, keeping your head elevated, and using Arnica – an herbal supplement shown to help resolve swelling and bruising.
    • Our fillers are made of hyaluronic acid. The advantages of this is that hyaluronic acid can easily be dissolved with an injection of hyaluronidase if necessary.

Different Treatment Options

By filling areas that gradually lose volume with age, fillers can lift tissues and treat drooping brows, sagging cheeks, down turned mouths, jowling, and hollowing of the the temples and face, and provide results of a “liquid facelift.”

If you are not ready for surgery, a liquid facelift provides you nonsurgical options to achieve global rejuvenation of the face and neck.

Liquid Facelift Dermal Filler

Depending on the area needing treatment, a liquid facelift may involve a combination of dermal fillers, neuromodulators, and skin resurfacing or tightening procedures. A treatment plan is presented and may be completed at your own pace.

Who is a Candidate for Liquid Facelift?
The ideal candidate for liquid facelift is someone with early to moderate signs of aging, or mild to moderate skin laxity and sagging tissues. Optimal results are typically achieved if the sequence of procedures are completed in a narrower time frame.

Because these procedures involved in a liquid facelift are typically temporary, touch-up procedures either every 3-4 months for neuromodulators, or yearly for fillers may be needed to maintain appearances.

Fillers may be used to cosmetically enhance the nose by blending a hump or other asymmetries to create a smooth nasal profile. It can also augment “flat” noses that have deficient nasal bridges and increase projection of the tip.

Known as “Liquid Rhinoplasty”, this non-surgical nose job is very popular over a traditional nose job because it offers natural-looking cosmetic enhancements which can be adjusted according to your preferences without the risk of undergoing surgery.
