What is Dermaplaning?

Dermaplaning safely and effectively exfoliates dead skin, removes dirt, oil, hair and peach-fuzz from your skin to leave your face looking bright, soft, and smooth! This painless procedure can be added to your facial to help target specific conditions as it provides deeper penetration of treatment serums.

It can:

    • Improve the appearance of fine lines
    • Smooth skin texture
    • Brighten overall skin complexion
    • Improve the appearance of scars
    • Promote a deeper penetration of facial serums and chemical peels for more effective results

What to Expect?

Dermaplaning is performed prior to other skin treatments such as facials and chemical peels to enhance the absorption of skincare products, improve the effectiveness of treatment, and provides instantly smooth and glowing skin.  After thorough cleansing, the skin is gently scraped to remove the top layer of dead skin cells, dirt, oil, and vellus hair.  This produces a sensation of a light scratch across the skin.  This effectively cleans and preps the skin for deeper penetration of products.  Dermaplaning can be repeated every 3-4 weeks with your skin treatment of choice.

What are the side effects and downtime for dermaplaning?

Dermaplaning is a painless procedure with no downtime and relatively safe for everyone, including our pregnant women. Dermaplaning, however, should be avoided if you have an active skin condition involving any of the following: sunburn, acne, rosacea, or other inflammatory conditions such as eczema or psoriasis.

Your skin may be pink for an hour or so after treatment. We recommend our patients avoid direct sunlight, swimming pools, working out, hot tubs, and saunas for the first 24 hours.
