Sculptra® is a biostimulatory injectable composed of poly-L-lactic acid. Unlike traditional dermal fillers that provide immediate volume, Sculptra works by stimulating your body’s natural collagen production to gradually restore volume and improve skin structure over time. Because results develop slowly over several weeks, volume restoration appears very natural.
Sculptra is most commonly used along the frame of the face, including the temples, cheeks, jawline, and lower face, to rebuild foundational support and restore youthful contours.

What to Expect?
Following a comprehensive facial assessment, areas of concern are carefully mapped. Sculptra is typically placed in the cheeks, midface, temples, and jaw region. A topical numbing cream is applied prior to treatment to maximize comfort. The product is then strategically injected into areas of volume depletion.
Initial swelling and fluid from the injections usually resolve within 1–2 weeks. Collagen stimulation develops gradually, with full results appearing around 6 weeks after treatment.
Because results are progressive, Sculptra treatments are typically performed in a series of 2–3 sessions to gradually rebuild volume and achieve optimal, long-lasting results. Clinical studies show that Sculptra results can last 5–7 years.
Side Effects & Downtime
- Mild swelling or tenderness may occur for 2–3 days following treatment
- Bruising is possible with any injection
- To minimize bruising, avoid aspirin and blood-thinning supplements for 10 days prior
- Icing, keeping the head elevated, and using Arnica may help reduce swelling and bruising
- You will be instructed on post-treatment facial massage to ensure even product distribution for the first 5 days
